Labrada Glycocarn Review

Labrada Glycocarn: Muscle pump the simple way?

Sometimes the simple things can make all the difference – and pre-workout supplements are no different.

Glycocarn by Labrada has one focus and one focus only – to elevate the body’s levels of nitric 81XfnMwSUoL._SL1500_oxide during exercise. The supplement acts as a catalyst to convert arginine into nitric oxide… and we all know what that equals: great muscle pump.

The manufacturer claims that a pre-workout dose of Glycocarn also works to prevent lactic acid build up and support muscles in becoming more powerful than ever. But does simple equal effective?  Let’s put it to the test.
What’s in Labrada Glycocarn’s Formula?

The formula here couldn’t be simpler – this supplements contains only 650mg of GlycoCarn (glycine propionyl L-carnitine HCL) per serve.

Labrada Glycocarn’s other ingredients are cellulose, rice flour, silica, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, magnesiu stearate and titanium dioxide.

User feedback

The Good

Glycocarn has a broad mix of reviews. The product is praised by some for its extreme muscle pump, enabling users to exceed their regular workouts and feel highly charged. Reduced fatigue, improved mind/muscle connection, muscle fullness and strong vascularity are reported, and the supplement is also loved by some for the sustained blast of ‘clean’ energy it provides. The fact that it contains no stimulants is mentioned by numerous users.

The Bad

There is an almost equal number of users who didn’t find that it did anything for them whatsoever – the fact that the serving size is large (six tablets) is also a sticking point for many and that there is not many serves per bottle. (poor value for money, and repeated re-ordering)

Our Thoughts

A Simple supplement with some positive reviews behind it… we have had an in depth look into the key ingredient Glycocarn (glycine propionyl L-carnitine) and this is what we found out:

Propionyl-L-carnitine is an amino acid that is naturally produced in the body. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins. L-carnitine and acetyl-L-carnitine are also amino acids, and they are chemically related to propionyl-L-carnitine. In fact, the body can convert L-carnitine to propionyl-L-carnitine and acetyl-L-carnitine. But, no one knows whether the benefits of these various carnitines are interchangeable.

Its main uses are to help treat poor circulation, erectile dysfunction and also increase exercise tolerance in patients with heart disease…

Although generally safe, it has a few possible side effects in some users, and these can include *:

  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Chest Pain/Angina
  • Giving a ‘fishy’ odor to urine and sweat

Overall the clinical evidence does not inspire us to recommend Glyocarn as a pre workout supplement… the serving of 6 pills is a lot to take at once and at $16 for just 10 days supply, its not that great value either…
